Two posts in two nights. I'm back! :)
Anyhow...Miss LDUB and Sunny got me to thinkin' that I should post and share what I've been listening to. So here goes...hope y'all enjoy as much as I am! I'll call them "My Listens":
-"Tonight"- Alex Band -"New Shoes"- Paolo Nutini -"Tame Thoughts"- Warm in the Wake -"Hate"- Fiction Plane -"Yesterdays Move"- Jay Clifford -"Losing the Glow"- Alex Nackman -"Saturday Waits"- Loney Dear
Thats seven. And that was my set limit. However, it's gotta be eight. Because I have one more that you cant not hear. (I love double negatives.) Actually...I cant pick just one song. I like Marigold. But they're all so good. Kinda similar to Locksley. People, meet my new favorite band: Sugarplum Fairy There you have it. My most recent "listens". Have fun! i want you to know there will always be a light and if the moon has runway and all the stars didntt wanna play dont waste the sun on a rainy day the wind will soon blow it all away-J E T

| GRAMMY NIGHT |
[11 Feb 2007|06:43pm] |
|
Whoa. I sorta forgot about LiveJournal. It's been a while. I guess I feel weird expressing my thoughts to the world. Then again, maybe its just that I havent had time to post.
Lots of things have happened since June. Bad and good. Maybe more bad than good. The worst is Buttons. She hung on as long as she could. That was back in October.
Anyway, I'm not going to say that Im gonna keep this thing updated because I know I wont. I bought this really nice $12 journal to write in. And I've only written in it twice and I've had it for a couple of months.
I thought I'd post about that Grammys though. This annual event is sorta like the Superbowl at my house. We all tune it year after year...no matter how much it sucked the year before.
It'll remind me again tonight just how much I'm thankful that I'm into indie stuff. Who needs a freakin Grammy? Who even deserves one?
Here are my predictions and picks:
RECORD of the YEAR: Nominees: -Be Without You Mary J. Blige -You're Beautiful James Blunt -Not Ready To Make Nice Dixie Chicks -Crazy Gnarls Barkley -Put Your Records On Corinne Bailey Rae
Who I think WILL win: Mary J. Who I think SHOULD win: James Blunt first choice, Dixie Chicks second choice
ALBUM of the YEAR: Nominees: -Taking The Long Way Dixie Chicks -St. Elsewhere Gnarls Barkley -Continuum John Mayer -Stadium Arcadium Red Hot Chili Peppers -FutureSex/LoveSounds Justin Timberlake
Who I think WILL win: JT Who I think SHOULD win: 1st choice: Chicks, 2nd choice: Mayer
SONG of the YEAR: Nominees: -Be Without You Johnta Austin, Mary J. Blige, Bryan-Michael Cox & Jason Perry, songwriters (Mary J. Blige) -Jesus, Take The Wheel Brett James, Hillary Lindsey & Gordie Sampson, songwriters (Carrie Underwood) -Not Ready To Make Nice Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines, Emily Robison & Dan Wilson, songwriters (Dixie Chicks) -Put Your Records On John Beck, Steve Chrisanthou & Corinne Bailey Rae, songwriters (Corinne Bailey Rae) -You're Beautiful James Blunt, Amanda Ghost & Sacha Skarbek, songwriters (James Blunt)
Who I think WILL win: Be w/Out You Who I think SHOULD win: 1st choice-Youre Beautiful, 2nd choice-Not Ready to Make Nice
BEST NEW ARTIST: Nominees: -James Blunt -Chris Brown -Imogen Heap -Corinne Bailey Rae -Carrie Underwood
Who I think WILL win: Carrie Underwood Who I think SHOULD win: James Blunt
BEST FEMALE POP VOCAL PERFORMANCE: Nominees: -Ain't No Other Man Christina Aguilera -Unwritten Natasha Bedingfield -You Can Close Your Eyes Sheryl Crow -Stupid Girls Pink -Black Horse And The Cherry Tree KT Tunstall
Who I think WILL win: Christina Who I think SHOULD win: KT
BEST MALE POP VOCAL PERFORMANCE: Nominees: -You're Beautiful James Blunt -Save Room John Legend -Waiting On The World To Change John Mayer -Jenny Wren Paul McCartney -Bad Day Daniel Powter
First off, I thought it was sickening that Paul is even nominated with these guys. I mean, these are young kids and they're up against one of the most amazing, powerful, huge, BEST songwriters that ever existed. He's in a league way above that. And the sad part is...I doubt he'll win it. Then I started thinking about it from a whole other perspective. No matter who wins...it doesnt mean anything. They had a good year. Thats all. The fact that Paul is grouped with these guys shows that the man still has it. He's still got it goin' on. He can run with the young boys on the pop charts. That's awesome!! Congrats to Paul.
Who I think WILL win: John Legend Who I think SHOULD win: Sir Paul, of course.
BEST POP PERFORMANCE BY A DUO OR GROUP: Nominees: -My Humps The Black Eyed Peas -I Will Follow You Into The Dark Death Cab For Cutie -Over My Head (Cable Car) The Fray -Is It Any Wonder? Keane -Stickwitu The Pussycat Dolls
Again, all different leagues here. We've got some manufactured pop kitties along with some guys who started indie and turned huge.
Who I think WILL win: Black Eyed Peas Who I think SHOULD win: KEANE
And I know you're all SO disappointed but thats all I have time for. :)

Keane Sessions @ Aol |
] |
It's been over a month...AGAIN...since I've updated. Things have been going on. Things have been keeping me busy.
-Happy 64 to Sir Paul. Today he is 64, just like the song he wrote YEARS ago... The hottest 64 year old ever... 64...and SINGLE, I might add. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him. I will find him.

-Happy 2nd anniversary to NOONER! This day 2 years ago, we were in Atlanta and officially became NOONER. Mmm...it'd be fun to be back at that day. Rooney, Keane, and Nooner. :)

-My grandmother died on Memorial Day. I miss her so much. Life hasnt been the same without her. We're adjusting. It takes time. That was probably the hardest thing I've ever gone through in my life. I was there as she took her last breath. I'm glad I was. But I never want to watch anyone die again.
-Buttons is still hangin in there. She's such a fighter. She walks around more now. And she eats...A LOT! She's just like a baby. She wears diapers, drinks pedialyte, naps, gets into everything... But she's still the best dog ever. She'll be 19 next month.

-Triple S Booking is hard work. But we're dedicated and serious. We've gotten some advice from some friends and that's encouraging. We've got three bands on our roster now: -Trances Arc -Wil Seabrook -The Rewinds You guys should check them out. Good stuff. And PLEASE..if they're coming to a town near you, go SEE them. And take all your friends. Most likely, we booked it and we need people to go out and make our efforts worthwhile. :)
-The banking world is going smoothly. I still like it...however I'd love to make enough $$ with Triple S that I could quit the bank and just focus on booking. Maybe one day. I got a loan on Friday to pay off my excessively high, maxed out credit card bill. That's a huge relief off my shoulders.
-I miss taking pictures. I dont do it as much as I used to. I wish I would have pursued it more. I wish I had the negatives to all my photoshoots so I could have those pictures again. They were actually pretty good. Crazy me, I loaned the pictures WITH the negatives to the people I did shoots for. One says he spilled something on them and another says he lost it...which I know *justincoughtosco* that if he looked hard enough he could find them. That was one of the most crazy fun days ever. That day, on the ROOF of Joe's studio, taking pictures for hours. I'm gonna do that again. I need to invest in a really good, quality camera and start again.
-Um, has anyone been to Amos' lately? Dude, you wont even recognize the place. It looks like a totally different venue. Go see. Speaking of Amos'...I saw Sister Hazel there. And last night Steph and I went to check out Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi Tribute) and The Frontiers (Journey Tribute). Ooooh my goodness. We walked in and looked onstage and our jaws dropped open. The Bon Jovi Tribute Band was amazing. I dont understand how someone can impersonate someone else to a T. It was crazy. Steph and I had a lot of fun. We both agreed that was the first time we've jumped at show in a loooong time. That's probably the most fun I've had at a show in a while.
-Keane's new album, 'Under The Iron Sea' comes out Tuesday. Go get it. Not sure you want it? Then go watch their AOL Sessions. Simply amazing. It's actually a lot different than their first album. But still...amazing.
-TAYLOR HICKS is the #1 HOTTEST BACHELOR (according to People mag). :) Well duh. We all knew that anyway.

-Josh. More to come later on that... :) I'm happy. He makes me happy.
Well...I should go. Triple S Meeting in a few. As I always say but never do, I'm gonna try to do better with this whole updating thing... If time permits.

Well...another weekend has come to a close. They seem to go by faster and faster. It was a good one too. Friday after work I went to see grandma. Then I went to Moe's to pick up dinner and I stopped by Pier 1 to visit Sunny and take her a snack. When she got off we headed up to the Muse to see A Rooster For the Masses. Joe called me earlier to ask if I was coming up there. He said I'd enjoy the band. I had heard good stuff about them and had already decided to go. Crazy stuff. They were interesting indeed.
The guys were really sweet and talked to us a while afterwards about the booking business. They gave us some great tips and advice.
Oh...I havent mentioned that yet. Man, I should really update more. Sunny and I are doing some booking (Triple S Booking) for a band out of Atlanta called Trances Arc. You should all check them out. They're amazing. .Trances Arc.
Saturday was a lazy + ONE whopping load of laundry day. I'm a slacker. I was stoked though because John (Tosco) gave me FREE tickets to see the Classical Mystery Tour. I had heard about it and wanted to go but tickets ranged from $25-40 bucks. Yeowch. But yes, FREE tickets = happy Stephanie. Basically what it is... A Beatles Tribute band backed by the Charlotte Symphony. Yes. Amazing. Just imagine "Eleanor Rigby" with a full orchestra. YAYYYY!
I was a happy girl. Steph and Daniel Coston joined me. I was delighted to share the event with such wonderful Beatles fans like myself.
After that, the three of us headed over to the Muse to catch Bain Mattox. There we met up with Sunny and Caley. Good stuff.
"Dont touch outside the Nooner!" - Rivers
We got there as Shane Hines was onstage. He was loud.
Steph and I ordered a pizza and they delivered it to the Muse. That was yummy.
Today I went to see Benchwarmers with Birdie after lunch at Moe's. Funny movie. Lots of good laughs. He will always be Napoleon Dynamite though. :)
Anyhow...that was my weekend, basically.
I miss a few weekends ago. The ECU/Charleston trip. Right now, for some crazy reason, I want to be sitting on that porch on the corner of Summit and uh, I forget the other street, on the porch swing (or "swingproch" as he calls it) talking with him. That was probably the most normal, out in the open, telling it all and not caring conversation that I've had in a long time. I cant remember the last time I've actually carried on a conversation with someone like that. It felt good...it really did.
I should have posted about that whole trip just for my sake so I can go back and read about it later...but I'll just let it go. There's way too much for me to remember and to type. It'd take all night. It was a great weekend.
I may go to New York later this summer with Steph. I'm not sure if I can. But it would be nice. We'll see.
My little girl has been sleeping more and more. Today she could hardly stand. Everytime she'd try to walk around she eventually fell. It's getting really hard now... I miss the good days when she'd run on the beach and beg at the table. In two months she'll be 19.
It's time for bed. I hope everyone had a good weekend...

I should be in bed. I'll be brief.
--Buttons seems to be feeling somewhat better. Thanks for everyones prayers and concerns. Please continue.
--I want the new Beatles box set sooo bad.
--American Idol was awesome tonight. They did all Queen songs. Rock on. Ace was awesome but all of the judges put his performance down. I'm kinda confused on that one. I thought it rocked it. Brian May seems like a stuck up old man. Hmm... Kellie was amazing. Didnt think she could pull it off but she did. Taylor. Ah, what can I say? I love that dude. I thought all of the performances overall were really good.
--I really want the Beatles Box Set.
--I got a couple people busted at work today. Yes, for real. Cops came and everything. Handcuffed them and all that jazz. It was pretty excited and I was quite proud of myself. No, they didnt try to rob the bank but they had done some forgeries and such and I caught it. And they were stuuuupid too. I had to stall them until the police came. It was great.
--I REALLY want the Beatles Box set that came out today.
-I'm sick of hearing about this whole immigration issue. I mean...MAN! This is starting to suck really bad. Why do they have to come over here anyway? Ugh. Stay in your own territory.
That's it for now. Oh, did I mention that I want that new Beatles Box Set?? :)
Goodnight world...
Oh yeah...looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple days. Whitney, Steph, JohnEarle, Lindsey...
surprisingly im not posting lyrics tonight. first time for everything right?

So I'm actually going to post something here besides a survey. I think the past three entries have been surveys. Thats kinda sad.
Note to readers: beware of typos, run on sentences, and sentence fragments.
Anyway...let's rewind a little bit to last month. I saw Keith Urban. Yay! That was a fun show. I went with my mom and dad. That was the first time in a long while we had done anything together, as a family, so it was nice.
The next night Sunny and I went to see this new band we've fallen for at the Muse. The Rewinds. Sunny had scheduled an interview with them. So we got there and met up with Glenn at The Mellow Mushroom. Then the three of us headed over to the Rats Nest where we were introduced to the rest of the guys. Long story short: Sunny conducted her interview. I videotaped it. Glenn got scolded for stealing a beer.
We went back to the Mellow Mushroom for dinner. Then, over to the Muse.
We hung out a little more there. Talked some more and got to know each other better. It was kinda crazy how well we all connected and how fast. Sunny and I kidnapped Chris and took him into the ladies room and put makeup/eyeliner on him. He got scared.
The guys played their show for about...lets say 14 people. Yeah, definitely not a crowd.
But anyway...it was good. They had a little technical stuff come up. But it still sounded great.
They decided to stay at Sunnys apartment for the night and we were all ready to head to Rock Vegas... The took FOREVER to load up and it was cold so Sunny and I threatened to leave...a couple of times... but they were set on coming with us so we waited. Sunny and I with Michael in the car, and the rest of the boys in their van. And we get stopped by Glenn to find out that hes changed his mind. I think he got scared by our attitudes. Hey, we were tired. And man...all that waiting for nothing Poop. So goodbyes and numbers were exchanged and off we go. "pssst. could i have your number?" -Michael
Red Monkey Watches are the best.
The next night I saw Doug Jones at the Muse. Ah, brought back memories to those Cravin' Melon days. I saw Alex McKinney. Quite a surprise. I didnt know he was playing with the Taylor Roberts Band now...
Ryan and I left a little early and went to see Final Destination 3. That scared the CRAP out of us. We should have seen Curious George instead.
A couple nights later...Feb 21 to be exact... Ryan, Leslie Ann, and I went to Amos' to see BIG CITY ROCK. Another new favorite of mine. They were opening for The Click 5. We had a grand time. Saving Jane also played. The chick lead singer only reminded me of how much I want to have a band...for real.
Pictures coming soon. I say that. But I bet I'm too lazy to post them. I'll try.
Leslie and I found the cutest little girl. I guess she was about 6 or 7 and she was rockin out. Chucks and all. It was so cute. We took a picture with her. She's gonna be us one day...
I wanted to INXS and Marty but I didnt get tickets. Big City Rock ruled though.
That Friday (Feb 24)...exactly a week after the Rewinds show... Sunny and I went to Winston-Salem to see them again. Good idea. This ended up being one of the best weekends ever. SOOO much stuff I cant even type it all. We got to the show. Sit out in the van drinking beer for a while listening to Glenn ramble about stuff. They play their show. Weirdest venue ever. (The Garage) And I officially DONT like Winston-Salem. It freaks me out.
After the show we're informed that the band are playing again across the street at some coffee shop. Really cool place to hang out. They were kinda loud for it. But everyone adjusted and by the end everyone was rocking out. There was a little tenseness because Brooks was sick and didnt want to do another show. Which is understandable. It was already like 1 in the morning. But they did it anyway. Sunny and I were ready to get to the mountains.
Oh yeah...I left that part out. Glenn invited us to stay with them at his grandparents MOUNTAIN HOUSE. Yeah, it was lovely. More on that later.
So at this coffee house I met the most random people. Caleb from this band called Lowlands. Cool stuff. He was really nice.
And JERRY CHAPMAN walks in the door! Very random. He had a show somewhere else in Winston and just stopped by.
We had really nice, interesting conversations with the guys about everything under the sun. We had the whole groupie discussion. haha...hilarious. Sunny and I figured we had better have everything straigh and understood before we go stay somewhere in the boondocks with these people.
We finally left and made the trip to Roaring Gap mountain which I guess was about an hour away from Winston. Michael rode with Sunny and I and we 'ooooed and ahhhhhed' over the lights in the mountains. It was really gorgeous. We talked about music and all kinds of stuff. We found out some interesting stuff about Glenn...for example, he's MARRIED. That was shocking.
I asked if they ever worked on their harmonies. Theyre an amazing band but sometimes I think they could practice more. He thought it was funny that I asked that... didnt seem offended.
Anyway...we finally got to the house. Saw a little snow. It was FREEZING. We load all of our stuff in and then settle down. We all stayed up talking and drinking. Glenn makes the best drinks. Michael cooked eggs. And we all talked some more and listened to cool stuff on satellite radio. Annnnd...we drank some more.
Everyone crashed except me, sunny, and michael. We stayed up to watch the sunrise...it was AMAZING Kinda cloudy. But still very cool. It was freezing though. Back in we go and we head to bed.
The next morning Sunny and I were the first ones up. Well...actually Michael was. He got up to go sleep in the van. Weirdo. I think I pissed him off about something. But we eventually worked it out.
Sunny and I made ourselves toast and honey for breakfast. Then we went outside and listened to her ipod and just chilled. That was really nice. I enjoyed that. The mountains were beautiful and we just sat out there on the porch.
The others eventually woke up and made breakfast. We hung around all morning and geez...I dont even remember what we did to pass the time. One thing we did was watch The Wedding Singer. Niiice.
Then around 5 or 6 we headed to Hickory, NC...I guess that was another hour or so away. I was kinda sad to leave the mountain house. It was just so nice and relaxing. The guys had a show there. And Glenn was a hardhead and didnt listen to me when I told him the first one was cancelled. We get there. He askes and surely its cancelled. I had managed to get them this show at some SMALL record shop instead. Long story short....turns out that the fire marshall busted that up before they even get to play. Ouch.
So...thats about it. We head back home after sitting in another coffee shop. Everyone made up and things were fine. Yes, made up. We all thought the other was made and the other one when actually no one was ever mad at anyone at all. We were invited back to the mountain house. But it was time to go back home and that’s what we did.
Ah, back to Rock Vegas. Grand weekend for sure. I miss it.
Feb 28 - I'm 24. Yikes.
Birdie comes home that Friday (March 3). LOCKSLEY plays the Muse on Saturday. Dude...they totally blew me away. Its todays Beatles I swear. They put on one heck of a show...
We hung out for a while at the Muse afterwards and then we all headed back to Sunnys. Yes...all of us. Sunnys apartment has become the 'hotel for bands'. We stayed up a while and I dont think I've ever laughed so hard... Not in a really long time anyway. I mean...it was the laughing that you do where your stomach hurts. Stories of Sharpies in the wrong places... Whew, it was crazy.
I wish I had time and the guts to type everything...
Thats all I'll say about that adventure.
I didnt get to see Bonnie Raitt. Poop.
Thursday March 9 Steph came home again just for one night only. Curtis People and Charles Kelley at the Muse. Steph was right...Curtis is a doll.
We ordered pizza from our car outside Dominoes... It was closed for take out so what would YOU do?
FRIDAY MARCH 10: Steph and I had a couple things in mind we wanted to do. We had thought about going to see Josh Gracin @ Coyote Joes. But we didnt do that. We still need to go there soon. We went to see Baumer at Tremont and then Steph, Sunny, BobDay, Joel and I went to Amos’ after they had finished to see Poprocket, Madison Fair, and Bain Mattox. We left a little after Bain started. We were all tired. Steph went home and the rest of us went to Dennys and then back to Sunnys for the night. Oh yeah...we stopped at Walgreens for a toothbrush.
The night was filled with throwing Mike and Ikes across the room.
The next day was another really good day...well, after the fight with my parents. Steph, Sunny and I had a picnic in Finlay Park in Columbia. We ate and just chilled out on the blanket. I ended up getting sick and having to stop at McDonalds. But after that, everything was smooth sailing again. Thats the same place I saw Rooney once...all by myself.
We headed over to New Brookland Tavern to see Big City Rock and Baumer. Too bad we had just missed Big City Rock. I could have cried. Oh well. They played the early early show. That sucks.
We left to go to Sunnys friend Codys apartment because it was still a while before Baumer came on. So we did that and went to eat and John Pauls. Laura joined us there. And then it was time to go back to New Brookland. We got there and I really enjoyed one of the opening bands...New London Fire. Then everyone was ready for Baumer. Ooooh man. It was crazy. I got bruises. Yes, it was moshing time. Cant say I’ve ever done that before and cant say I’ll ever do it again. But it was fun. Pain and all. I was a little freaked out with the blood on the stage.... eww gross. Haha...I’ll never forget Chad looking at me from the stage and saying he was sorry. I got to see Jamie...and Aaron...and a few others I hadnt seen in a while so that was nice.
We went back to Joels house after. We took showers and then we were going to spend the night but then we just decided to come back to Rock Hill. So we did.
We get back to Sunnys apartment and theres a fire alarm going off and everyone is out of the building. This is like...maybe 3 or 4 am. CRAZYNESS!
Finally we get to go in and we crash.
The next morning, Joel calls very early. He wanted me and Sunny to go with him to get his tattoos. He was getting a praying mantus tattooed on each foot. Weird...but okay. I couldnt go with him but he swung by and picked Sunny up.
I had lunch with them afterwards at Subway.
MARCH 15: Ryan, Steph, and I met up with Leslie-Ann at DiSH. Jay G and Shawn were doing some D Jing there. Playing their records and such. Wow...I loved the music. Badfinger, Queen, Sweet, Bowie...good stuff. We drank and danced. I saw CR there. Whoa. That was odd. But not bad. He’s weird though. Makes me wonder what I ever saw in him... I met a guy there...Thomas. I think he has a girlfriend though... But he was really nice..and hottnesss. :) Um...and I probably wouldnt have approached him if Leslie-Ann didnt go up to him and tell him I thought he was “cute”. Oooh goodness. So at first I couldnt believe she actually did it. But then I was like...well...okay, this could be good.
Driving back to Bens I got pulled over...RIGHT in front of his house. Apparently I missed a checkpoint. The cop was SOOO rude. I wont even go into that. He asked if I had been drinking. I said no. Yikes. Close call.
MARCH 24: Policy & Starting Tuesday @ the Muse. Crazy Crazy. Ldub and I went to Bens before the show. We had some drinks and watch some of the Mike G DVD. We had a grand ole time. Messed around and didnt make it to the Muse until Justin and Paul aka Policy had finished. I was upset. And apparently a little...a lot intoxicated. I was mouthy and annoying and loud. Geez. Sorry guys.
Um....but hey, I GOT A RAISE at work! I had my review and I got excellent scores and comments from my boss. So I’m proud of that. I got a 16% raise which rocks. I’m happy. I enjoy my job.
So thats a very tiny segment of the past month. I should update this thing more often but time is scarce.
I shall end this now...like anyone has read this far. Oh my gosh...how boring!!

The Big Chill soundtrack |

These past few weeks have been eventful to say the least. This will be somewhat of a 'random ramblings' session... everything out of place and quick to the point. Well, maybe not so quick.
Happy 2006 to everyone. Mine started off with a bang. I had a spaghetti dinner at my house with some friends, which I never do. I hardly ever have people over like that considering I live with my parents and its just better to go to someone elses house. But my parents were out for the evening (they went to see the Avett Brothers) so yes, I had friends over. In attendance: LDUB, Will, Sunny, Steph, WhitJames and her cupcakes, Ryan, Liz. Did I leave anyone out?
After Spaghetti and an episode of Full House, we all headed off to Bens house. The majority of the night was fun...minus a few bits of drama. We watched fireworks there and I saw Bon Jovi and Ryan Seacrest on TV. Yay. I danced on a table... yadda yadda... We were going to spend the night but it was kinda crowded so we drove home around 3-ish.
A couple Fridays ago Sunny, LDub, Sarah, one of Sunnys other friends, and I went to Bar Charlotte. haha...yeah. It was girls night out. Sunny rode the bull! WOOT!
That place was kinda lame though. So I called up Whitney and she met us in the parking lot of the Breakfast Club. Man, I wanna go back there. And LDUB and I rode with her to The Wine Room to visit Chip and Joey Auch. We didnt stay too long. Stopped at Harris Teeter for some Jones Soda. haha HECK YES!
Then it was back to Sunnys, and then to a party at the TKE house. Oooh my. Thats not my scene. I was ready to leave...and I did. I was a party pooper and went home. That was the first time Ive actually felt OLD around my friends.
The next night was the Tosco Music Party. However, I didnt attend this year. Shocking, I know. This is the first one in quite a while that I've missed. I missed David Mead...but oh well.
Although, I did go to the afterparty at the Muse which was fun. I met Whitney up there and we just chilled a while. I showed my U2 pictures to everyone including Daniel, Jay, and Joe and some people even thought they were Daniels. Wow...that's quite a compliment. Daniel told me I did a really good job. That was big coming from him. He's kinda like my hero. haha
Then Sunday was football. The Panthers rocked...and Steve Smith...wow. He made a touchdown within the first 10 minutes of the game.
This past week has been okay. The weather has been somewhat dreary. Sunnys bday was Tuesday. The big 2-0. The new season of American Idol started. Yes. I'm still a dork. My mom and dad, the amazingly cool parents that they are, went to see Bon Jovi Wednesday... and got THIRD row. Yeah, consider me extremely jealous. I wanted to go. Heck, I even wanted to see Allison Krauss that night. But I stayed in with my doggy. Sunny came over to visit. We picked up some MOES and watched American Idol and some Celebrity Ice Skating thing. I only watched it because I wanted to see Dave Coulier.
A while back a bunch of us went bowling. Im not sure when it was though... Mike, Ron, Eric, Sunny, Laura, Ryan, Me, and Kelly. It was quite fun and we even got treated like royalty and didnt have to pay to get in because my uncle Stan the Man works there. He wasnt working there that night but he made some calls and we got met at the door by some dude. It was neat. We went to eat and Angels Diner or something like that afterwards. We left in a hurry. I cant quite explain it...but we all felt like we had just been in an episode of the twilight zone or something. It was scary...
Sunny got a job at Pier 1! Very cool. I'm proud of her.
Thursday I had to go to Columbia for some class for work. It was boring. But I enjoyed the drive there. When I got back I went shopping at Targe'. I picked up Season 2 of Full House. I got tired of waiting for someone to get it for me, so I got it myself. haha I definitely spent about $150 there. Yikes. But you gotta love Target.
Friday. Friday was SUCH a fun night. It was a Rock Star Dress Up Party at Sunny's. I had a hard time deciding who I was gonna be after Sunny decided she wasnt gonna be Bono. We had planned to go as Bono and The Edge. Me, of course, being the Edge. But we didnt do that. And who the heck is the Edge without Bono?! So... My next instinct was to be Joan Jett. But then it was brought to my attention that I already dress like that normally... so it wouldnt really be dressing up. As LDUB told me..."be creative!". I thought about Joan Jett, Cindy Lauper, Joey Ramone, Stevie Nicks, etc. I ended up going as a mixture of everything I think.
I got to LDUBs to join her, Ben, and Megan. We had a nice time there...listening to music and drinking our Cosmo's. Thanks Ben!
Then we went to Sunnys and joined the party. It was loads of fun. Jamie and Aaron were there! I was excited to see her Kyle showed up, and lots of people I didnt know but had seen before. Birdie and Whit James were MIA. :(
After a while, we went to some other party at this house... I didnt really like it there. We were there too long until the cops come pulling in. Ooooh my goodness. I seriously got scared.
A few of us just started walking away casually. We left the car there...whose ever it was. I have no clue. On the way there...there were five of us in the backseat. Yikes.
The cops were yelling and stuff. Then out of the blue as we're walking down the street, Sunnys friend Ben comes to rescue us. What a relief!
He drove us back to Sunnys and I was ready to stay in for the night. Ben left. I think he got irritated. Im not sure what happened there. Ben (the other one), Sunny, and Ryan went to McDonalds and Kyle and I stayed at Sunnys and watched TV. They came back and Ben had plates from McDonalds. No, not plates that you can buy or have. He stole them!
So that was pretty much Friday night. We all fell asleep...eventually.
Saturday wasnt quite as eventful. But it was fun. I picked Whitney up since she was still a little drugged on her pain meds from her wisdom teeth. We headed out to the Muse, met up with Ben, chatted with Vancey and other people at the Muse, and listened to Josh Lamkins band (The Brilliant Inventions). They were really good...and fun. Afterwards Josh comes over to me and asks about Nooner. Here we go again... I sorta explained it. It was really good to see him. And he offered a place to stay whenever I'm in Atlanta. Score! No more Super 8. Well...I wasnt ever going back there anyhow. We went over to The Rats Nest where they were having yet another party. Whit, Ben, and I tried on stuff and took funny pictures. Then we went to The Penguin and grubbed out. They have the best Black Bean Veggie Burger. And of course I got my favorite...fried pickles. We went back to the Muse...said our goodbyes and went our way.
Sunday was okay. I made my first coconut cake...LAYERED coconut cake, mind you. It actually turned out okay. Sunny came over around 6 to watch the game with me and the fam. Man, we pigged out. Chips, dip, my mom made these awesome little triangle finger sandwiches and brownies. Yum... We ate as we watched the Panthers say goodbye to the Superbowl. Oh well...we'll get em next year perhaps. I officially hate the Seattle Seahawks AND their fans. Bunch of loudmouths. They played a good game, I must admit. The way they would not let their eye off Steve Smith was insane. They were stronger than the Panthers. It sucks. But yeah.
I'll be rooting for the Steelers.
Sunny stayed until about 12-ish. Way past both bedtimes. :) We had a great time looking through random pictures and lord help us... I brought out all of my video tapes where I've recorded SO many random things. All my tapes are unlabeled and its annoying. Most of the ones I popped in had Hanson stuff on it. Wow...yeah.
So that was the week.
All the parties were fun. But I've thought about some things and had stuff on my mind. And I've come to a conclusion... I wont go into much detail. But I will say that although I have been myself... certain times Ive been acting ways that I just dont feel is me. I like to have fun. My way of having fun is hanging out with friends, and going to shows. I'm not a party girl. And when I attend these "parties"... I act in ways that I feel guilty for the next day. And I'm sick of that. It's not me. Its not who I am. Its everything that I used to be against. So that's all I'm going to say. For now...
This week is looking good. Wednesday Im going to the Muse with Sunny to see Syd.
Friday is Poprocket and leslie at the Muse. And I'm meeting Leslie-Ann for dinner at dish. I've been wanting to catch up with her for a good while now. So this will be fun. I'm looking forward to it. Saturday is Bain Mattox. Same place. And I believe Whit-James is having a partaaaay at Bens house one of those nights. And Birdie is coming home this weeknd. WOOT! I think I'm going bridesmaid dress hunting with my friend Lauren Sunday. She's getting married in Nov. (Nov. 4) and I'm gonna be a bridesmaid. Yeah, same story...always a bridesmaid, never a bride. :)
Oh yeah... Ive got a new band for you guys to check out. Theyre called The Rewinds. And they'll be at the Muse on Feb. 17. So you better be there. Check em out: http://www.myspace.com/therewinds
And while youre checking that out you might as well go listen to Peppers Ghost version of "In My Life" by the Beatles. It sounds AMAZING...
IN other news... I've been hanging out with this guy, Josh. He's really nice...and hes from my church. We've gone to the movies a few times...even once with his parents. That's about it though. I'm not sure where its headed...or if it's even anything at all. We'll see...
Thats about it for now kids. I'm going to go finish up my veggie chili and green beans.
Y'all be good. And I hope to see you soon...
And no, I'm STILL not over the U2 concert. :D Read Sunnys review. I'm too lazy to write one.

The Charlie Daniels show was good. I had a really good time...a little too good. I met me a cowboy. :) Nothing really has become of it. He called me a few times. But thats pretty much it. We're too different... He's just hot. Wow. How superficial can we be?
I STILL havent gotten the KEANE DVD. Rock Hill's Best Buy sucks.
I saw RENT with Sunny, Steph, and Ryan. It didnt really appeal to me. But it was still good to hang with my buddies. I still want to see Derailed. I heard that was really good. Anyone seen it??
Last Wednesday was Baumer in Columbia. LOVELY show. Of course, any Baumer show is great. If you havent heard them... you must.
http://www.myspace.com/baumer
They're SO good live.
Then Thursday was JUMP at the Neighborhood Theatre. Probably the last time I see those guys for a while. I talked with Ward and Matt for a while. Goodness, I'm gonna miss them. Especially my Wardie. All the good bands are dying off. One by one.
Crap! I didnt do pictures with them. I've never done pictures with them. Sadness.
Saturday was BAUMER again...but in Rock Hill. Again, an AWESOME show. The crowd was more laid back...which may be a good thing. The confetti was a success. I think people are beginning to start looking for that now. Jamie took a REALLY awesome picture of it. It looks mega-cool. It was soo good to see Jamie TWICE in one week. I miss my friends who I never get to see.
Before the show Sunny ran some errands with me. She took me to Schoolhouse Exchange. Cool little vintage store. Sad to say...I bet it wont last too long in Rock Hill. None of the cool stores do.
I'm broke and it sucks. I've got this great job at the bank and I still manage to be broke. What the crap?
Saturday is MIKE GARRIGAN and POLICY at the Muse. WOOT! I cant wait. I havent seen Mike in ages. Not to mention Justin and Paul. I miss the old days... Ah, how I'd love to go on "tour" again. Go to New York and Boston in all the multi-feet of snow. And load in and load out in the freeeezing cold. Good times. I miss that.
HOLY FREAKING COW you guys... I'm seeing U2 in less than a week. I could pee my pants. I remember Sunny and I began counting down when it was like 100+ days away. We've been looking forward to this for SO long. Wow...I just hope it isnt as cold as it was today. As Sunny and I will be standing outside for about 12+ hours. But cold or not...it will be so worth it. I dont think it can ever be as cold as it was when Birdie and I were waiting outside the ROXY for the Keane show. Oh my gosh. I'm not exaggerating. My feet where numb.
i have become comfortably numb -pink.floyd I thought I was going to die out there.
Hopefully it wont be THAT cold next Monday. But if it is...so be it. The Edge is my hero. :)
My grandma was in the hospital the other day. She was running a fever so the nursing home sent her to the emergency room. I was in Columbia at the Baumer show when they took her. My mom tried to call me but of course my stupid antenna-less phone wasnt working. (My new phone will be here tomorrow!) She was still there when I got home around 2 am. So I went to the hospital and she appeared to be fine. So I went home and got some sleep.
She's alright now. As happy as she can be. It's so sad though. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. She cant talk anymore. She tries. But she cant even form sentences. She's not eating too well either. I just miss the days when I would go spend the night with her and we'd walk to the store and around her neighborhood. And wow...her biscuits. She made the best biscuits. I asked her yesterday how she made them. "Grandma, can you tell me how you used to make your biscuits?" And all I got was a smile and a little mumble. Its really sad to know that I'll never be able to carry on a conversation with her again.
And I dont know what possessed me to write this. I'm just letting stuff out. I dont really share stuff like this too much. I try to keep it inside and pretend everythings okay...when I know its not. I talk about my shows and bands and other things that make me happy.
And my dog...which I've had since I was 6 years old... she's falling apart too. She's blind, she can barely stand up int he mornings when I take her out, and she wears diapers. Yep...diapers. But hey, as long as she's not in a whole lot of pain and as long as I get a tail wag once in a while... everythings okay.
Sometimes it seems that all the things that really mean the most to you in life just slowly disappear. I think it would be easier if I hardened my heart and trained it not to get attached to things/people. Because all you get is hurt in the end...
But they arent gone yet and thats all that matters.
That's it for now. Ramble city is a bad city.
Bono...here I come. I might post again before the show... if not, you'll definitely hear from me afterwards.
Be sweet. And remember the important things in your life.

relationships change though i think its kind of strange how money makes a man grow some people they claim if you get enough fame you'll live over the rainbow over the rainbow but the people on the street out on buses or on feet we all got the same blood flow -amos.lee

Ah me. What a slow Friday at work. Fridays are usually the most busy day of the week here at the bank. However today, being the Friday after Thanksgiving, people are still on vacation and shopping. And some are still wallowing in their glutton.
I'm pretty excited about tonight. My friend, Holly, and I are going to Coyote Joes to see Charlie Daniels. haha. YEAH BOY! Woooo. I'll do some hootin' and hollerin' for sure. I'm just excited to wear my boots.
Anyhow...that should be loads of fun.
Sunny...Miranda Lambert will be there sometime next month. I'll get the date for ya tonight. You know we've GOT TO GO!
Y'all have a good weekend!

So Jeff Foxworth got some major TV exposure on the AMA's the other night. I hope everyone watched. In case you didnt know, he's the ex-guitarist for Weekend Excursion and current guitarist for Lindsey Lohan.
Super cool. :)
